This is a smallish tree tarantula that has a beautiful coloration and pattern even in adulthood. The carapace is metallic pink to copper and the abdomen has a "bumblebee" pattern of red and black. It seeks refuge in the humid microclimate of bromeliad clusters in trees in coastal forests that are often dry for extended periods.
