Description
Lasiodora parahybana (Salmon Pink Bird Eater)
CURRENT SIZE .5"
This Brazilian species is among the five largest tarantulas in the world, and is arguably the best species for those who wish to have a truly giant display spider. It is much easier to raise and keep healthy than the Goliath Bird-eater and a big adult is very close to the same size on average. Also known as the "Campina Grande" Bird-eater, this species produces huge egg sacs with spiderlings sometimes numbering 2000 or more so they start small, but raising one from young to huge is one of the hobby's true pleasures. The "Salmon Pink" tends to stay out in the open and may even climb.
